Hey everyone! Sorry it has been a while since I posted. A lot has been going on, but I will try to post once a week on updates around here! Some of the biggest changes have been that I hatched more chicks, and I've started an extension on my barn.
The chicks that I hatched came from eggs that my chicken Phyllis laid. I put them in the incubator after she came up missing. After a few days, I found Phyllis drowned in a container of water. To say I felt awful about it was an understatement. I went around and made sure there were no other containers that could hold enough water or were deep enough that a chicken could drown. Even though it was awful what happened to her, 8 beautiful chicks came from it! I'll show them on my social media pages, so be sure to check them out!
Now for the barn. That has been a challenge to say the least. More obstacles have come up with this project then I could've expected. I'm getting closer and closer, so there is hope! I am adding 2 more stalls to the back, and then adding a lean-to on the side to make chicken runs from. I would not have been able to do this without my brother and dad helping as they can, so big shoutout to them! You ever heard the phrase "it takes a village"? Yeah, well that's another post for another day.
There have been some other personal things going on that have distracted me, but I am getting back on track and plan to post at least once a week. Thanks for all the support!
This is a zinnia I cross pollinated years ago. I always thought it was so pretty with the pink center on the orange. I may get back into flowers when things settle down some, what do y'all think?
